Sweet powder day = icy beard

We had a sweet powder day at Snowbird yesterday.  The super-fresh powder was faaaaaantastic!  Powder spray in the face gave me an awesome ice beard.

Winterized!

I'm sitting around indoors with a sinus infection, so I thought I'd take a little time to "winterize" boardlovers.com. I gave it a new look and added RSS feeds for road status updates for the Cottonwood Canyons, a mountain weather status (based on Park City), and a news feed that searches for any "snowboard" news stories in the SLC area.

We're getting tons of snow this year at the SLC area resorts. I've been up four times (to Snowbird and Solitude), and it's been a powder-fest every time! Sweeeeeeeeet!

Reaper Run!

Boardfest 10 (AKA Boardfest 2009) was most excellent! Homey was back after a two year hiatus! "Reaper Runs" became one of the highlights of BF10. I had a moment of inspiration when I was packing for the trip and threw in an old Halloween mask. I thought it would be appropriate to see if I could board wearing the mask -- the results were spectacular! Check out the video below, and see what you think...

The filming and commentary was courtesy of S-Dawg. Winky and AC (Air Christopher) also provided some great entertainment with their own Reaper Runs. AC's theatrics got him the nod for "Best Reaper Run" of BF10! I'll post some additional Reaper Runs later.

Back in the day...

I found some old pics from back in the day (circa 1987). The top one is me (with the saw) and two of my skateboarding buddies -- we were building a launch ramp. The bottom one is me doing an ollie to grab (or a power-drop?). Good times!

Here is some classic Mayhem from back in the day. This was an early morning boarding session on the BBD at Deer Creek reservoir back in August 2000. We were out on the lake before the sun came up! Homey is in the background.

Movie Night

This year's  Boardfest was the most comfortable ever.  Enhanced by Wink's fireball, Gavin's booming sound system, and "The Couch".
